Crawlability and Indexation
Ensure search engines can discover and index your important pages. Review your robots.txt for accidental blocks, verify your XML sitemap is complete and error-free, check for noindex tags on pages that should be indexed, and monitor crawl stats in Google Search Console. Use the URL Inspection tool to verify how Google sees individual pages.
Site Architecture and Internal Linking
A well-structured website helps both users and search engines navigate your content. Keep important pages within three clicks of the homepage, use descriptive anchor text for internal links, create topic clusters with hub and spoke structures, and avoid orphan pages that have no internal links pointing to them.
Structured Data and Schema Markup
Implement JSON-LD structured data to help search engines understand your content type and display rich results. Common schema types include Organization, WebPage, Article, FAQ, Product, and BreadcrumbList. Validate your markup using Google Rich Results Test and monitor coverage in Search Console.
